I began making these images to document my extended experience living in two Maasai communities – Shompole in southern Kenya, and Orkeeswa in the Monduli hills of northern Tanzania – through my thirty-year association with Groton School.  Initially, photography was a good way to bridge the language gap.  I have developed lifelong ties in Tanzania through Orkeeswa Secondary School, www.ieftz.org, and return regularly.
